Concrete Patio
A patio is an area, usually adjacent to a main residence used for recreation. It is a space where families and friends can join together in a meal, enjoy a sundowner and relax. Patios can be constructed with a majority of materials including wood, glass, aluminium, tiles or bricks – to only name a few.
Most commonly patios are constructed with concrete. Additional features like hot tubs or decorative columns can also be erected using concrete to create textured surfaces. Apart from a hot tub, a majestic fire pit can be added to your patio to add to the ambience. Imagine hot summer nights and chilling on the patio with a cooling breeze flowing through the pillars… Imagine all your closest friends gathered around a fire in your newly built fire-pit with stamped concrete textures looking like expensive, natural stones… Can there be anything better? Constructing a concrete patio will be an investment. Using concrete instead of natural stones or brick will be less labor intensive and will subsequently lower the costs of construction. Your patio will last longer and will have minimal maintenance. As mentioned above stamped concrete can come in a variety of colors to fit into any setting. Depending on the architecture of the main house, stamped concrete can be fashioned to be an extension of the main structure, to resemble the natural elements around or should you wish, be something entirely unique and different. There is an array of options to choose from. Pavers can be used and placed on a bed of compacted sand. Traditionally spaces are left between pavers and these can be filled out with gravel or pebbles. Alternatively, pavers can be placed close enough together to avoid the growth of unwanted weeds. In such a case extra gravel or pebbles won’t be necessary. Depending on your personal style and preference, any theme can be achieved. Should you require something modern, a smooth concrete surface with a pop of color somewhere will look fantastic. Alternatively, should you require an otherworldly, fantasy ambience – imagine dark grey stones with green lines of shrubbery framing the dark color. Imagine a stamped concrete patio resembling huge, old, natural stones with a centrepiece fireplace. For those defying the sweaty summers imagine an ‘icy’ look for your patio. White stamped concrete stones leading you to a swimming pool in the same shade? ‘What about a wooden deck for a patio?’ We love natural elements. Though, having a wooden deck will require a terrible amount of maintenance each year. In contrast, concrete is low-maintenance. No need to deal with splinters, termites or expensive sealant. Initial building costs will also be higher in comparison to using concrete. If you’re really keen on the wooden look, customised concrete can be stamped to resemble a deck. The fact that concrete is versatile means that no one patio will ever look the same. You will add a unique feature to your property, that will stand the test of time and what’s more – you will add to the value of your property when time for selling comes… Who better to assist you in building the picture-perfect patio fit for a King? The answer is simple. We like making dreams come true. We love helping families get together to enjoy the great outdoors. |
